In 1985 the United Nations designated 5th December as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism and to raise awareness for the contribution they make to communities.
This year the theme is solidarity through volunteering and will focus on promoting the collective power of humanity to drive positive change through volunteerism.
Today we celebrate and give thanks for the efforts of all volunteers.
The Feast Day of St Edmund Campion was celebrated today with a mass delivered by Rev Fr Sean Gough.
This is a hugely importantĀ dayĀ in our Catholic school calendar, where we celebrate the feastĀ day of our patron saint. Blessed Edmund Campion (1540-1581) was an English Roman Catholic Jesuit priest and martyr, canonised in 1970 by Pope Paul V1 as one of the Forty Martyrs of England.
All students and invited guests came together to pray and remember St Edmund Campion.
