We were delighted to host an Employer Encounter Assembly for our Year 8 and 9 students, featuring guest speakers from the YMCA and the Police Force.
During the session, the speakers shared valuable insights into their respective industries, discussing the skills and qualifications required to succeed, as well as the variety of job roles available within their sectors. This provided a fantastic opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of potential career paths and the expectations of employers in these fields.
The event proved to be an engaging and educational experience, with students actively participating and having the chance to ask questions directly to the professionals.
We’re proud to offer such enriching opportunities that help our students explore their future aspirations and better prepare for the world of work!
The Year 7 & 8 girls’ dodgeball team showcased their incredible skills and teamwork at the City Dodgeball Competition held at Highfields last night. The final was an intense showdown, but with outstanding teamwork and some powerful throws from Anu Omololu and Leja Lopetaityte, our team secured a decisive 3-0 victory to claim the title of City Dodgeball Champions!

Well done, girls!
To recognise their outstanding achievement in completing the Silver CARE Award, our Year 10 students were treated to an unforgettable trip to Alton Towers just before the half-term break.
Throughout the day, students explored the park, enjoyed adrenaline-pumping rides, and bravely tackled the park’s infamous scare mazes. The trip was a well-earned reward for their hard work, dedication, and the positive contributions they’ve made to our school community as part of the CARE Award program.
We are thrilled that all the students had an amazing day—this was our way of showing appreciation for their incredible commitment and effort.
A big thank you to Mr. Banks, Mrs. Beech, and Miss Ridley for joining the trip and ensuring it was a fantastic experience for everyone.
Congratulations to our Year 10 students—you’ve made us proud, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
On Tuesday 12th November parents and carers were invited to join members of the Sixth Form for a friendly chat and an opportunity to sample some delicious offerings from our catering team.

A huge congratulations to all the St Edmund’s pupils who took part in the Wolverhampton Year 7 & 8 Schools Dodgeball Championships on November 8th! Every participant represented the academy with great pride and demonstrated incredible resilience throughout the competition. Well done to all!
Last Saturday, two teams of our talented pupils from Years 9–11 represented our school with pride in the preliminary round of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Top of the Bench competition. Facing strong contenders from across the region, our teams tackled a series of challenging written questions with determination and skill.
The event, hosted at Coventry University, also provided an exciting opportunity for the students to tour the university’s impressive labs and facilities, gaining insight into a range of courses on offer.
Both teams performed brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment—especially on a weekend! Every participant received a certificate and a goody bag as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
We are thrilled to announce that at least one of our teams has progressed to the regional final, which will take place at the University of Birmingham in January. We wish them every success as they prepare for this next exciting challenge!
