Compton Park Spine Road – leading up to St Edmund’s Catholic Academy and S Peter’s Collegiate School
ACTION – September, October and November 2015
We received notification in the summer holiday that Compton Park Spine Road would be formally adopted by Wolverhampton City Council.Ā The City Council has taken advantage of the summer period to carry out essential works to ensure it meets the required standards of an adopted City Council road.Ā This has involved extensive works that commenced in late July and are likely to be completed in early November 2015.
We are very pleased to see a new cycle path included in the plans for our learners in addition to anotherĀ pedestrianĀ path.
- We would encourage your son/daughter to comeĀ into school on a bike, in order to promote Ā healthy well-being, on the completion of this path.
- In order for the path to be safe, guard railings will be erected leading up to St Edmund’s main Student Entrance.
- Upgraded crossings are being installed with appropriate raised kerbs.
- There will be parts of the road that will be extended giving greater visibility to ensure both pedestrians, and motorists, use the spine road safely when it is completed.
- Appropriate line markings, including double yellow lines with the necessary enforcements, will be added on completion to ensure this busy site is kept safe.
For the duration of these works please do not drive onto the spine road.Ā If you are dropping off or collecting a child, or children, please park safely nearby and walk.
National Express West Midlands school buses will be allowed access to the turning circle in order to maintain these services.
