“Since October, 2021, twelve Y9 pupils have been working on methods to help Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club become more sustainable and environmentally friendly. This was part of the Premier League Inspires Programme and ran for twelve weeks where pupils had to come up with new ideas, setup a plan of how this would be implemented and pitch their ideas to a panel of staff.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that the “Ecoballers” from St Edmund’s won this competition and have been invited to Liverpool (Anfield – home of Liverpool Football Club) to pitch their ideas against other teams that won their local competitions. Adelina Munteanu must get some recognition here where she was the main driver behind the eco rewards card that was devised, and she even got a personal video message from the Wolves manager congratulating here for her work. We wish the “Ecoballers” all the best in the next round and hope their ideas are utilised by the Premier League clubs. Well done, Mr Selvey.”
