On Tuesday, our Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE Music students took part in an engaging and informative workshop led by WaterBear, a specialist university offering degree courses across a wide range of music industry roles.

During the afternoon session, students gained a fascinating insight into the UK music sector—learning that it currently employs over 220,000 people and contributed £8 billion to the UK economy in 2026. Delivered by two active industry professionals, the workshop featured inspiring live performances, showcased the huge variety of career pathways available in music today, and highlighted how WaterBear supports young talent in turning their passion into a career.

It was an enjoyable and valuable experience for our students, offering them direct access to real-world expertise and practical inspiration for their future studies.
