Within Key Stage 3 you will receive progress check information for your child twice during the Academic year. This information will reflect on the engagement of your child upholding our core CARE values as well as their academic progress to date.

 

The Progress Check Report consists of:

  • KS2 English, Maths & Scaled scores that your child has achieved at the end of Key Stage 2.
  • End of KS4 Target Grades are set in line with your child making or exceeding progress in line with the best 20% of schools nationally. This is based on your child’s KS2 data. Your child should aim to meet their target grade in all subjects by the end of KS4.
  • Progress Check (PC1) reflects whether your child is making the expected progress to meet their end of KS4 target grade. Progress is colour coded to identify whether your child is on track to meet their end of KS4 target grade. It is based on the assumption that your child will continue to work as they are presently.
  • Attitude to Learning (ATL) grades reflect your child’s efforts and engagement with their learning. Grade descriptors can be found on the last page of the report.
  • Homework gradesreflect your child’s effort and engagement in their independent learning tasks set by their teachers. Grade descriptors can be found on the last page of the report.
  • CARE grades reflect on how your child is uploading our Academy CARE values of being Calm, Aspirational, Respectful and Engaged. Your child is given a separate grade for each of our values. Grade descriptors can be found on the last page of the report.
  • Attendance figures show the percentage of time your child has attended the Academy this year, to date. Statistics show that students with an attendance rate of at least 98% have better qualifications and career prospects.
  • Authorised absences show when your child has been absent from the Academy and a valid reason has been provided by the parent/carer for this absence.
  • Unauthorised absences  show when your child has been absent from the Academy and a valid reason for this absence has not been provided.
  • Lates show the number of AM or PM sessions your child has arrived late to.
  • Positive Incidents (Merits) are awarded for upholding our CARE values and other positive behaviours observed, such as Catholic life, achievement, excellent effort, outstanding work and excellent manners.
  • Negative Incidents (Warnings) are issued when our CARE values and not being upheld and other negative behaviours have been observed, such as failing to follow instructions, dangerous/aggressive behaviour, lateness, inappropriate language/rudeness, out of class behaviour and social time incidents.
  • Detentions show the number of faculty and/or after school detentions your child has been issued this academic year.
