The Royal British Legion has asked people to observe the silence and consider the human cost of war.

Today St Edmund’s students and staff will begin a two minute silence to mark Armistice Day, which bought an end to the First World War, and to remember all of those who have sadly lost their lives to protect our freedom and country.

Animals will also be remembered and commemorated for their contribution in war zones.

Poppy sales have generated ÂŁ35 which will be passed on to the Royal British Legion to help them provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families.
