Twenty six students competed in the annual City Gymnastics Competition at Highfield’s School. It was an excellent day and all their hard work paid off as many of them came away with medals.
In the beginners section Taryn-Rose Hough demonstrated tremendous skill, control and strength on both floor and vault and walked away with silver on vault with Amira Abdullah, and a respective 3rd place overall. Janis Nantchouang performed really well too and became city champion on vault. Other performers in this section were Grace Leo, Shristi Sharma, Sophie Spilsbury, Angel Henson-King, Vaneigha Brown, Faith Katangu, Emily Radford, Sophie Hipkiss, Olivia Rooker and Sibel Marcu.

The teams of Rebecca, Christina, Lysia, Ashleigh & Stefano gained gold medals too and will now go on to represent Wolverhampton in the Black Country Games in June.
St. Edmund’s also performed well in the City Trampolining Competition too, Lisa Spratt won bronze medal in the advanced section, Lysia Bayley silver in the intermediate section and Molly-Anne Porter gold in the beginners section. Other performers were:- Emily Radford, Amira Abdullah, Amelia Beet, Josh Dodd-Matthews, Shona McIntyre, Evelyn Thorpe, Trinity Cash, Emma Espebedes, Chaya Coleman, Chiara Montana, Rosie Murphy and Isobel Rafferty.
These were outstanding performance from all gymnasts/trampolinists. They looked so smart and impressive – a credit to themselves and the school. Well done!
