As St Edmund’s prepares to mark Remembrance Day, we take time to honour the fallen soldiers and civilians who have made the ultimate sacrifices during times of conflict. Our Site Team has created a beautiful and moving display of poppies in our Peace Garden, providing a poignant reminder of the lives lost and the importance of remembering.
Students and staff will also reflect on the vital role of forgiveness and reconciliation in building a more peaceful world. While we remember the sacrifices made by so many, we are reminded of our shared responsibility to work towards a future free from the scourge of war, where justice, compassion and harmony prevail.
Inspired by our Catholic values of forgiveness, mercy and unity, we pray for a world where peace is not simply remembered, but actively pursued by us all.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4
