We have over 20 pupils completing an Environmental Leadership qualification this year in Eco Club, at either Level 2 (age 13+) or Level 3 (age 16+). This qualification will be awarded by the Leadership Skills Foundation, and we have been granted funding to take part in this by WWF. The pupils will be gaining valuable transferable skills to support their future aspirations, and as part of the Level 3 qualification, they can gain UCAS points.

Pupils will be planning and delivering two projects throughout the year to put into practice the leadership skills they are developing. The first project will be setting up a “Garden of Eden” orchard in the Academy grounds. The pupils have already been successful in applying for and being awarded a £2,500 grant from the Youth Climate Action Fund to carry out this project.
St Edmund’s is now a recognised qualification centre for the Environment Leaders Programme.
